Chatted about this on the gardening thread years ago but we don't have a dedicated thread including other trades / tools / bits.
I love old tools, particularly hand tools which have had long and well used lives. The feel of them, the quality, the patina on the wood of the graft of hundreds of hours used by a craftsman or craftswoman.
Most were made to last a lifetime, and often many lifetimes, so they deserve to be discovered, handed down and kept alive.
This week I discovered Scott's Furniture Mart in Margate. There are separate areas for everything from tools of every kind to chairs, table legs, gravy boats and thimbles. Thousands of house clearances, collections and accumulations to be sifted and rummaged, proud finds held aloft and claimed for their next life.
I picked these up for £12 and took a few pics.
