A source on the Moorlands (Deep Throat) informed me this lunchtime that Lee Jasper was planning to stand for Coldharbour as the Respect candidate next year. Putting money into it - not just a token campaign apparently.
If true this might assuage the angst on the Urban75 Chuka squatting thread at least. Jasper is a bête noire (literally) of the Jewish Chronicle (pic courtesy of) - he has roundly denounced Israeli state racism on many occasions.
Maybe if he won Coldharbour (unlikely in my view) he might have a crack at Dulwich & West Norwood?

Who knows, Mr. Loverman may even do better standing for a ward than he did standing for a constituency. It'd be hard to do worse!

I don't mind Jowell at all, but if any public figure commits a solecism like that they deserve to be pulled up on it.

I've edited 'cow' FFS. Consider it withdrawn.

And replaced : MP or Urban75er, if someone uses a ridiculously contradictory phrase of that kind I'll criticise them. I'll admit I have a particular dislike of the word unique being misused though -- it's been a thing of mine for a long time.

Petty admittedly, 'superior' not -- wrong use of English is wrong use. (I'm sure I've screwed up odd times myself, and if I do, I'd try and take it on the chin when corrected).
