Tarantino hasn't made a decent film since Pulp Fiction and that's overrated.
I liked Jackie Brown but I pretty much agree with you apart from that.

Danny Dyer and Jason Statham are both good actors, just that they sometimes (often) make poor choices when it comes to picking projects, and sometimes (often) don't stretch themselves enough to show off what they are capable of.

Tarantino's films were on a solid upward curve for the first 20 years of his career.
Reservoir Dogs has its moments but has aged badly. Juvenilia.
Pulp Fiction is enjoyable fluff with a couple of bum notes and a certain monotony to the writing, which is all in one voice. Still growing up.
The Kill Bills are more enjoyable fluff with slightly better writing.
He hit a new high point with Jackie Brown, his first work to show emotional depth.
Inglourious Basterds is a work of a master filmmaker now fully confident in his craft.
And then he excelled himself with Django Unchained, which is a way better depiction of chattel slavery than 12 Years a Slave (agree with SL Jackson on that). Should have won a hatful of Oscars.

Always thought The Shawshank Redemption was pretty overrated. OK prison drama, but nothing special. Bit too twee and earnest for my liking.
Ditto Lord of The Rings film trilogy which was garbage. No heart to it, just dumb, bombastic production values and nothing else. A grandiose mess of a film.

Often just one standout song, with the rest being either barely passable or mediocre as shite.
I'll make an exception for the Rocky Horror Show which is a work of genius and 'jukebox' musicals where the songs are usually all top notch because they're just an excuse to run through a decent group or singer's back catalogue.

Woody Allen's only good films are the silly ones from the 70s. His best film is Sleeper, and it's been downhill ever since. His take on modern urban living is shallow and self-indulgent and has little relevance to anyone not from the upper middle classes of Manhattan.
