Two killed in attack outside a synagogue in Halle, Germany 9/10/19

Those are from tonight's vigils at the synagogue and the kebab shop.

They were singing the Friday prayers at the synagogue.

At the kebab place there was someone in a bad state: I could hear him crying from across the road.

And today is the fifth anniversary of the attack.

When I was in Halle last month I heard that AFD is now one of the largest parties in the town.

E2A: how Halle's commemorating the anniversary;

The AFD took the biggest share of the vote (21.2%) in the city council elections held this summer, edging out the CDU (20.6%). I would expect that to grow further on the back of their state election successes of recent months.

From your posts it appears you've spent some time in Halle or visited there on a number of occasions. Have you watched Thomas Heise's documentary trilogy (e.g. Stau, Jetzt Geht's Los) about young right-wingers, their families, and social context etc?
