Hell, if I was a prepper the last thing I’d want to be making myself was a gun, that’s the thing I really want to properly rely on. That and a good knife.

The lads behind the counter were shot at - a customer, too - it's on a section of edited head-cam footage. Rotten. Let's hope they're ok.

Hope the old lady near the grenade is ok too (wasn’t a proper grenade by the sound of things, so maybe...).

The two dead are the passerby woman mentioned here and a man in the kebab shop who was shot in the head.
 
Speaking in English, the attacker announced himself as a Holocaust denier and blamed feminism for low birth rates in the west, which he said had led to mass immigration. He said “the Jew” was the root of these problems.

Three separate videos show the attacker becoming frustrated as he is unable to access the synagogue and his gun jams, suggesting he could have killed more people if his weapon had not malfunctioned.

Too bad his gun didn't blow up in his face - he'll probably wish it had, once it sinks in that he's going to spend the next 50 years locked in a cell endlessly replaying his failure in his head.
 
Especially disgusting to launch on Yom Kippur, which was, of course, the idea.

This shit is why there has to be extensive security inside and for some distance around our synagogue on high holy days.

gsv used to do security and experienced at least one odd apparent attempt to wheedle out information about the security arrangements from a passer by.

Someone on twitter pointed out that the weapons, the smg(s) at any rate, were built using P.A Luty's specs.

Of course, before anything was confirmed, RW cuntfaces were online saying 'Obviously Muslims' and Katie fucking Hopkins saying 'Germany has fallen' and talking about her Jewish friends are so worried about this stuff. Katie, this kind of shit is actually YOUR fucking fault for encouraging hate. Can this woman please be locked in a fucking concrete vault with no means of communication?

I think in Hopkins-world, if it had been a Muslim gunman, it would have been the fault of German authorities for allowing Muslims into the country. Since it wasn't a Muslim gunman, it will have been the fault of German authorities for increasing right-wing extremism by allowing Muslims into the country
 
Sadly you're probably right about that Yossarian

I'm so sick and tired of Jews being used as a cover for trolls' hatred of other groups. Especially when fanning hatred for any religious or ethnic group endangers Jews because it makes more extremist nutters think hate is ok and that they'll be some kind of hero for killing people who aren't 'Us'.

Nah it’s the size of the shot used in the cartridge- this looks to be reasonably big but small in number - more for big mammals than anything else- Someone will come along and correct me I am sure.


Eta - looks like he fired shots at the door to get into the synagogue - door security did its job/ must have horrendous if you were locked inside

I have certainly sat in synagogue and mentally planned how I would get my kids out if I heard gunshots or an explosion, and I'm sure I'm not the only person who has done so.

There is slight reassurance in that our synagogue would be quite a hard target - we're set back off the road behind a high wall of an old manor house, with guarded gates. But not every community has that; the Halle shul is evidently quite small
 
From what is emerging today, Jews were primary but the usual loser take on things is that anyone outside their perspective was fair game - i.e. pretty much everyone on this site I would have thought.

The feminism bit is in reference to 'great replacement' ideology; low birth rates because 'feminism' plus immigration = white genocide. Details not important, what is perhaps important is that many of the advocates of this still have their youtube channels, with subscribers into the high hundreds of thousands.
