Twin Peaks ReWatch Thread

Update: as I have been up since 6am I have managed to clean the whole house and watch two more episodes in between.

Was going out for a walk but the weather has changed so am making lunch and gonna snuggle on the sofa with a glass of wine and watch a couple more. I'll probably have a siesta after that.

I am of course doing this for you guys, I am that generous. :)

Small point about the episodes I am up to now...it has become more entertaining than creepy. I like the weirdness and the no questions acceptance of the woo also!

The impossible triangles and skullduggery of the characters is developing nicely.

that is, indeed, very thoughtful of you! :) I appreciate your tireless support and loyalty to the cause! Have an extra glass for me

I've been catching up with this over the last few days. I've never seen it before.

I just finished series 1, but probably need to watch the last episode again as I got distracted and it seems almost impossible to follow the number of affairs going on, not to mention I find myself mixing up men with brown mullet style hairdos.

Agent cooper is wearing a bullet proof vest...there was no blood

How the fuck is she gonna escape that one?

Going in for season 2 ep 1 now.

anyone else watching on Syfy channel? My recorder hasn't recorded anything last night, was it not on?

it's ok, i just been told it wasn't on last night, phew! I'm up to season 2 episode 6. Loving every minute.

In episode four 'Invitation to Love' foreshadows the appearance of Sherly Lee as Maddy Ferguson by introducing an actor who plays two different characters. Nice touch.

e2a: This whole episode is just one perfect scene after another.

Episode 1 season two is very good! But
to lave agent cooper bleeding from one of the bullets because I have rewatched it and there wasn't any blood but in ep1 s2 he is bleeding

Also,
Does it appear to anyone else that Laura is also a perpetrator in what is going on in the train carriage or is she mocking/encouraging something? We also see the third man come running from outside and attack her (?)... then him breaking down upset...

I can't believe I watched this years ago as I remember none of this stuff :D

spoiler 1 - i didn't spot that!!

spoiler 2 - 1. Yes, I agree. I always had that feeling about her.
2. Not sure about that bit, will have a look again tonight as it's not on Syfy at the weekends.

I'm up to where the character played by David Lynch arrives. For me, it's the only bad thing about the whole show. Oh, and that it ended :(

I think I might need an intervention :hmm: Thank goodness I have the dog to walk as I think I need some fresh air.

I have watched 3 episodes already today

I have no other plans as some friends who were coming to stay have cancelled so at this rate I will be finished with season 2 by the end of it. I have managed some homemade burgers though, i'll earn them by having a workout later this evening. :D

Gripes: In season 2, there is no longer the 'previously on twin peaks' bit at the start of each episode which i liked a lot because it meant they jumped around the different characters/storylines more. It has become much more linear now and loses something of it's weirdness/entertainment because of that.

I also an increasing annoyed by the theme tune.:D

Rutita1

there is nothing wrong with being a little ahead - after all there's not that many episodes! I have a feeling the majority of us have skipped ahead.
I like how you've been using spoiler tags. I think I'll do that too. In fact...

ANNOUNCEMENT!

If you have proceeded beyond the current episode (which many of us have) and you want to comment on anything, please note the season and episode number in your post and use spoiler tags. Thanks! :)

I know there's nothing wrong with it...I was espressing the psychosis I started to feel because I am binging on TP :D

Feeling much better now, more grounded/back in reality ;)...have given the dog a long walk and am half way through a workout....I am twitching to watch another episode though :D

the 80's/VHS quality of the opening credits annoys me (especially the neon green graphics)
Agreed! ...and the dead bird :D

but the machinery in the factory thingy is very calming and mesmerizing
Agreed and the waterfall of course. :)

Oh and how much daylight do they get in that part of the US?...it's nearly always night time!

Donna has come back to her normal sugar sweet self after her weird transformation into a bad girl temptrous that lasted only half an episode...what the fuck was that all about? Somehow corrupted by listening to LP's tape to the doctor? ...and is now doing the meals on wheels. She has made contact with Mr Smith adn is having dinner with him, plus going to the cemetry at night to place the orchid on LP's grave and talk to her...AT NIGHT! People are dying all over the shop and DONNA, a teenage girl isn't scared at all to start going to strange men's home or hang out in the cemetry alone.. :D

the bird is dead? never noticed that!

here's some sciency charts about daylight in the pacific northwest. http://www.gaisma.com/en/location/seattle-washington.html

all I know is it rains a lot! might contribute to the darkness, or could it just be a reflection of the darkness in the souls of men? :hmm: :D

not sure about Donna, but I definitely don't know what James sees in that goody-two-shoes cousin of Laura. Love the singing scene though, so cheesy

I can't stop thinking of Kyle McLaughlin as his character of The Mayor on Portlandia while I watch this. Kyle's the absolute best :D
If anyone hasn't seen the Portlandia series, it's definitely worth a watch. He is absolute perfection in it, makes the whole show imo.

season 2, episode 3 spoiler:

How great is Lucy's fancy man ex boyfriend? :D And who thinks he's the father of her baby?

We are supposed to believe that 1. he managed to stuff maddy in a large golf club bag and 2. He can pick up that bag with one hand, swing it over his shoulder and carry it there with ease? :D

Was SP crawling down the stairs and then passed out because she was drugged?

Also, the large round rug in the palmer house is new isn't it? Supposedly to hide the blood?

Plotline consistsncy fail:

1. Maddy had already told someone, can't remember who that she would be driving back to Missoula, Leeland has just told James and donna that he dropped her at the bus station

2. Supposedly Nadine has regressed to 18, believes she's been in Europe and that her parents are still there. She hasn't once questioned her eye patch  From other episodes we know that Ed did it on their honeymoon...the superhuman strength things is a well OTT too, apart from injecting some more slapstick comedy into it, I wonder how they will use this in the future.

I was also bit confused about the bit where people seemed to suddenly and randomly drop out of school and loiter about in the daytime when in the first episode they were shown to be at school... it is never properly explained, and I'm not sure if this is accidental because each episode had different writers and there are continuity errors, or whether it is just undercommunicated/poorly explained because they just assumed people would automatically understand what was going on there (without actually ever really explaining it!)

Anyway, it bugs the hell out of me because you get distracted from the actual plot trying to figure out random glitches like that... It's annoying.

each episode is supposed to span one day so that might partly explain the school thing.

What bugs me is that the sign in the intro says 'population 51,201' but you only ever see the same two dozen people.

Apparently it was originally supposed to be 5,200 but the network insisted that it should be much higher, because people couldn't 'relate' to such a small town. I can only assume they hadn't read any of the scripts when they made this call, as the whole point of it is that Twin Peaks is a small, tight-knit sort of place.
