post your sexy turntables in this thread

bet it sounds horrible though!
i will take some pictures over the weekend, i have a Garrard 401 and an ITT dansette-style multi changer which are now both fully working, another Garrard one that is halfway there, a weird red Panasonic turntable from the 1980s with a pop-up 7" adapter, and a beyond-repair 1210 that i should just throw out really.

I've always wanted a Garrard 4hf, beloved of reggae sound systems. They work best mounted into solid hardwood plinths, some of which are things of real beauty.

And of course the classic Garrard 301 - an incredibly reliable deck used by the BBC and most other radio stations in past times.

i think the 301 and 401 probably sound much more "hifi" than the 4hf! but of course it isn't all about hi fi. at the moment my favourite thing to play records on is the dansette-style one with the built in speaker.

I wold quite like one of these - for when you cant wait to hear a record till you get home - it does happen sometimes!

not sure if its porn exactly though - depends on your tastes i guess!

BTW excellent pictures folks :)

I still have my SL-1200 I bought in '76. To post pictures would be just fucking dull compared to the above :)

My Dad had one of these when I was young - Garrard Zero-100. I think that's where my love of vinyl and decks came from - glass rear support for the tonearm, pitch control, strobe-o-scope

What's up with it? Might be interested in taking it off you hands maybe :)
sound only works on one channel, arm probably needs replacing. the motor etc is all fine, it is very fixable if someone could be bothered. i shoud prob do it and stick it on ebay.

well, let me know if you do want to out it unfixed :)

I have a Garard 301 with SME 3009 tone arm that`s been sat in a box for over 20 years as I`ve never had the time to cobble it all together! I know it`s a sacriledge and I should pull my finger out! Always been thrahing my records on Technics 1200`s so don`t know if I could stand listening to my beat up records on a "hi-fi" system.

Might flog it all!

.p.

don't get rid of that! it is a turntable for life. they do go for good money though. i got my 401 for £20, with the SME arm, after a bit of fixing it has become one of the only things i would always take with me when i move.

My dad had a garard of some sort when I was a nipper: he got rid of it in a clearout without telling me about 10 years ago. I was enraged...

I've an ancient technics turntable with an sme arm. Unfortunately the motor's gone wonky though. :(

im' not sure, it is quite early, i think volume 2... £1 from a charity shop. i think since they reissued them they're not worth too much money tho, otherwise i'd get rid of it, i don't really like it, i was just giving it another go when i took the photo.

it is perfect, it even has this insert with adverts for street sounds t shirts and stuff.

edit: it is volume 13 actually, not very early at all.

Goldmund-Reference-II-turntable-420-90.jpg

The successor to the 25-year-old Goldmund Reference is a high-precision turntable with level calibration to less than 1/100th of a millimeter and its stylus, pivot and counterweight “perfectly aligned for optimal dynamic balance.” Three Teflon tubes prevent vibration of the wires as they carry signal from the turntable. The turntable also features a digital processor that provides RIAA correction which, I’m guessing, has nothing to do with those people who sue people for downloading MP3 files.
The world’s most expensive turntable is limited to a mere twenty-five units with only five being made per year.
