On Google maps it looks like a flat roof at the back, but it would be on the third story. So bit of a hike up there unless they'll be an upper bar. Probably would be a bit of a pokey smoking den if it went ahead.

Just how bloody long is the bus stop opposite the Tulse Hill Hotel going to be allowed to be suspended due to the new development’s building work? It must have been the best part of a year now if not longer.
And given the remarkably slow progress of the construction work (I might not be an expert in the field, but I know for a fact I have seen plenty of new buildings structurally completed in less time, and this one is still a bloody skeleton), it feels like it’ll be many additional months before we get the bus stop back. Are they secretly building a nuclear bunker in there?
And why the fuck couldn’t they just moved the bus stop a mere 10 metres back if they knew the works were going to take this long, even if as a bare temporary sign?

Good news about progress at the Queen of the South.
The development opposite the THH is on the other hand is starting to ring mild alarm bells. Apart from the extraordinarily long time the whole thing is taking already, I haven’t noticed anyone working at the site for a while. And I’m excluding the Christmas period.

Scaffolding is indeed coming down and we are 4-6 weeks from opening fingers crossed! We've been contending with an awful lot of build issues, have given the whole building new foundations, a whole new roof, a completely new internal structure and that's before we even got to the design so it's very much a labour of love but we CANNOT WAIT to show you all the love and hard work that's gone into it and hope you love it as much as we do.

Indeed, it will be healthy to have some decent competition in the area for The Railway, the hotel is a very boring place to drink, Knowles isnt too bad but i have never really warmed to it for some reason.

Haven’t even tried Knowles yet. Nothing against it- I reckon there’s something about the layout and design of the place that subconsciously tells my mind ‘this is not a pub’.

It does feel far too sterile, it's popular with mums with prams and toddlers, which isn't everyone's vibe, myself included. It's cheaper than The Railway though, especially their own brand Portobello beers. Worth noting The Railway does do cheaper beers in the week daytimes, but after 5 or 6 and on weekends it becomes Zone 1 prices.
