Trump 'seriously thinking' about presidential run

Donald Trump said he is seriously thinking about running for president on Piers Morgan Tonight (last night).

Some of his comments and a link to the show below.

"I love this country. I hate what's happened to this country," he added. "We're a laughingstock throughout the world. We're not respected."

"The first thing I would do is announce very strongly that we're going to tax Chinese products -- 25% tax on all Chinese products. They will come to the table immediately and stop manipulating their currency which they're doing,"

"I see them [China] as the enemy," he said. "They want to take over this country economically. They are not really out-competing. They are cheating. And we have people who don't know what to do, because we have the wrong people in office."

"Worse than China is OPEC," he said. "They wouldn't be there except for us. Twelve men sit around the table. They set the price of fuel. They set the price of $3.50 for your car right now, a gallon. Guess what that's going to be? 5, 6 and $7 very soon. Of course, there's nobody here that calls them and says, 'Fellows, you better not do it. "

If he doesn't stand, it looks like he is trying to position himself as some sort of king maker.

I can see a Trump and Palin ticket :D

That's Donald Trump and Sarah Palin (not Michael Palin) ;)

What an ignorant shite he is. OPEC have not lost all power, but their ability to dictate the oil price has diminished hugely in recent times.

But he's the son of a multi-millionaire rentier who has managed to become a multi-millionaire rentier through the magic of, um, a multi-million-dollar inheritance.

Surely he must know what he's talking about.

Mind you we dont actually know if he really believes that stuff or just smells the opportunity to use it for popularist propaganda purposes.

Trump may as well run with Micheal Palin rather than Sarah for all the chance he will have. Vanity, ego and an overblown sense of self importance are charachteristics of his imho and I don't think it takes a genius to make money in property development, not saying he is simple, but he aint no einstein.

Anyone who goes to this much trouble to cover up male pattern baldness is seriously odd

Perhaps I should be more specific ..

I have long said that I would prefer successful people from business or the forces lead the political parties and take power in governments.

I would prefer that to policy wonks whose only life experience is a bit of PR and some politics.

So for me ideally our future political leaders would already be proven leaders from other walks of life.

However Trump just has to big an ego, why does he call his tower Trump Tower? why not Pencil Edge or The Tower or Tower One .... he called it Trump tower because he has an ego as big as the flipping tower itself. I don't think such a big ego is compatible with political leadership.

He's just another Ross Perot, only less credible from the outset. At least with Ross Perot you had to wait until he opened his mouth. Mr Hairpiece is a muppet out the door.

Trump was the original for "The Apprentice" television series. I wonder if Alan Sugar will copy him in this area. Sugar for Prime Minister, oh dear, what a thought - nearly as bad as Cameron. A Trump Palin ticket would be the end of the 'American Dream'. We could all have a laugh though.

The status of his hair is pretty unclear to me, for example check the following at around the 29 second mark.

He's a TWAT!! An arrogant, pretentious prick. He's a frigging speculator. Arrrgghhh!!! I can't say anything nice so I'm going away now!!

LOL he has bad hair and he is a cunt

History is littered with people that had bad hair and are cunts, yet have ended up running countries.

As for him being arrogant with a big ego, isn't that a prerequisite for becoming a politician in a country like the USA

I really hope he runs if only for the entertainment value, Donald Trump & Sarah Palin could be the best double act since Sam Fox & Mick Fleetwood

not a fan of Sugar, but at least he's had a real job

He is a gambler that due to good fortune (rich to begin with) has made it this far. He has no proof of ability to lead let alone have the knowledge and intelligence to do so. Sugar questions his real wealth (as do many), could he write a cheque for $200million and have it pass? Many would suggest not, yet he plays the billionaire card. Probably as suitable to be an American President as anyone else though.

He's certainly making himself populist enough to appeal to the Tea Party lot.

If he did become president, would he, with his surname, be allowed to visit Malawi without being arrested, though?

He's actually not as ignorant as he might look, given that he substantially increased his inherited wealth. He at least knows how to choose investment advisers. :)
