Just arrived in Frankfurt and can confirm it has been a very pleasant way to spend the day so far. Next stop Brussels and then Ghent. I'm glad I had this idea.

I am now in Belgium. I have been in 3 countries on this journey and not one incling of any kind of passport control. Interesting.

I went from Brussels to Ghent and back on the train and no one asked to see a ticket and I didn't have to scan anything.

Well it's all gone tits up now and I'm coming home 3 days early. Everything in Belgium is closed from 6pm so there is really no point in staying and I don't want to get stuck here.

Know the feeling, i was going soon and have cancelled. Everything is closed till 4th April in Belgium. What happens after that date who knows?

The current restrictions will pass, then the free movement will return, but of course will still not include Ireland or the UK as neither signed up for it.
