None of my monitors have USB inputs, just VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort
It uses a USB (well thunderbolt) to DisplayPort cable.

Wow 240w power!
Buy a crappy cable and watch your house catch fire.
Although, I’m now thinking of the slight DC power cable that supplies my laptop which I’m pretty sure eats up more than 240 watts
Pretty sure it doesn't. More like 60.
It’s an absolute shit show. When we should be thinking about consigning as many cables as possible to history we’re inventing more and more of them.
240w in a cable identical to one that takes six hours to charge a phone off a laptop. That's not going to cause any accidents.
Isn't it volts that jolts and amps that kills? It’s ultra low voltage. It’s not like sticking the mains into a bath.
Isn't it volts that jolts and amps that kills?
So if it's 240w and ultra low voltage isn't that extra deadly amps?Yeah, Amps kill.
I just started the Wikipedia page and it made my head hurt. I'm just going to trust you.Correction: Extra Low is the proper term.
Depends what you're doing with the cables, if its just a basic mobile phone, low speed or low power or both I can't see any cable being an issue.
Want to power a 100w device when running at 20Gbp, you might find choosing a cable more of a challenge. e.g. The only way you can charge the Oculous Quest 2 and use it at the same time is with the Oculous cable at £89.
another "the USB "standard" is descending into chaos" article I've not actually read
USBefuddled: Untangling the Rat’s Nest of USB-C Standards and Cables - TidBITS
USB-C was supposed to make connectivity easier. Instead, it has acquired a profusion of footnotes, exceptions, and labeling that can leave average users frustrated—and with the wrong cable. USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4 are our last best hope.tidbits.com
Where are you getting your 100W from? And why would you power a 100W device via a USB cable?
AFAIK all the devices are 5v, which at 100W is a 20 amp power draw. Even my ten port powered hub is only 35W.
So you can charge high end laptops with it.
