One thing the BBC can take genuine credit for is coming up with the definitive soundtracks for sport. From football to snooker, they've picked tunes for each sport and run with them so that it would now be sacrilegious to change.

Keeping the MOTD music as it is after 40 years is one of those small things that makes me love this island we live on.

Actually this is one theme music theyve messed with, or at least remixed. Recently the snooker tune had a bit of a DnB treatment

Easily the most moving TV theme tune in my life has been .

Used to be on on a Sunday night at 9pm, jsut before having to go back to school, and that feeling of impending doom and teenage misery mixed in with the theme tune's bittersweet message of existential angst and the escapism of alcohol made me shed a little tear on more than one occassion!
