she was a newbie lil stray i took pity on and adopted but she kept attacking the other kittehs in the house (not mine, my housemate wasn't impressed to find her own kitteh bleeding after one incident of 'play'
) so i gave her to my boyfriend's parents... who is unfortunately now my EX boyfriend, and I am never going to see her again (not too bothered about the boyfriend mind

My mum just worked out who I called Buffy after. She quite liked it up until that point, now she knows about the vampire connection it's a "nasty" name apparently.

Nah, I didn't really say anything about it, it was her bf who told her what the programme was. I think he was quite proud he got the cultural reference at his age.
She's doing fine; she's found the highest chair and is now sitting on it looking down on her subjects. Buffy on the other hand is still hiding in really uncomfortable looking spaces. I moved her from one to put her on her cushion. She tolerated it for a few minutes, and then went back to where she came from.
I am already talking to them as if they were human babies.

Sometimes they just hide for a bit when they have moved, until they feel like it's their territory (and have fully adopted you as their mum!).
When I was little, we got two kittens which promptly vanished into the back of the oven (thanks for that, weirdo kittens, had to eat takeaway for days) and only came out for food for several days. Once they warmed up they were fine, and it doesn't sound like Buffy is that freaked out, maybe just feeling a bit shy.

Yeah, I think she's just taking a bit longer to find her feet, although she has let me stroke/tickle her whilst purring. It's just that Trillian has been such an attention slut in comparison.
