The New Techno Thread

Techno, like most music*, sounds better in cold weather. Autumn is best for techno, IMO.

But I listen to it any time.

*Most, not all.

I think it's the walking really. It's great on the headphones for just going for a walk and I'm more likely to do that on a sunny day than a gloomy day in winter.

one of the few techno releases that has really enthused me in the last few months, along with what JoeFarr has been putting out...

Oh and the aleksi perala Colundi sequences are also great.

what is it? not listening to much new techno atm but can probably give you recommendations.
Its lumphead by Dez Williams

Its very intense reesey bass with a stomping drumbeat..... reminds me of the mover.

I think I'm going to try making some techno.....

i wish the mover would come back :(

One of the most innovative producers of the 90s. you heard his coldrush/gloomcore stuff? superb, shits over all of that berghain techno.

i know this is new techno thread n all but this 96 track from the guy behind lunatic asylum/dr. macabre just has to be mentioned when mover gets namedropped.

Aye it was, the mover, followed by ben pest then perc & truss iirc..... it was a good three hours.

Nice. saw Ben Pest in Sheffield the other month and dexorcist going into some proper magnetic north shit - why don't more djs play above 150 these days? I wouldn't mind hearing some 215 french speedcore personally!

Gonna try go to bangface next year and eat acid for breakfast :)

That's what you're supposed to do right?

Have you heard his Fast Forward radio shows from the late 80s/early 90s, Fez909 ?
They're brilliant and show how much of a direct link Detroit has with EBM/New Beat, which often seems to be overlooked.
