blimey, i just got these CDs of "math rock", i guess you'd call it, by oxes, rumah sakit and sleeping people - intellect-heavy, droll and spiky, with emotion there by implication rather than visible directly. all out guitar/bass/drums as well - no samples, keys (exc a little piano) etc... best track has to be the ahhhsome 'johnny depp' on the sleeping people cd, a balletic yet forceful tour de force based around one note! a bit like rhys chatham actually. plus sleeping people have a way with asymmetric time sigs that makes the bending and curling flow, albeit in a bendy curvy way.
