The Islamic state

IS is here and they hates us.
Britain should be worried about the people who are staying not the people who are going out to IS.

I don't trust the muslim who are here, sorry but if they follow islam then I cannot trust.
I can't see any of them standing up to their imam, either now, or were I to be got at in some way.
The older I get the less I want anything to do with people of religion. Enough of religious mumbo jumbo and please, in no way let it be used for killing.
I want my government to get tough on some of these detestable rules. Take your horrid rules from the bible, koran, scriptures or lose your churches and mosques, plenty of homeless who can use them. My state comes first, so naff off.

This thread is about IS, (not foreign policy).

I'm saying I won't sit on the fence. You embrace religion if you want to.
The Islamic state can stay where it is, I want bugger all to do with it or them.
NO RELIGION HERE.

Not all muslims are beardy head-lopping terrorists. Most in the UK are about as observant as your average CofE person (i.e. Not at all). Do you really think every muslim in this country wants a part of IS? How about all the muslims out in Syria currently fighting against IS? Surely you must know this you fucking tool...

not to forget the popular target for random violence has been in the past- other muslims on haj! Being muslim doesn't=IS. If you are the wrong sort of muslim, your head comes off as easy as any christians, jewish persons or athiest or whatever odd fusion faith the yazidi hold, sufi- don't matter. Their way or the block

You're paranoid.

The Caliphate IS wish for has nothing to do with the UK or most of Europe excluding of course the usual Spain, Sicily and parts of the Balkans.

This map gives some idea of a possible extent although limiting it to Granada seems a bit reductive: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb.../8/80/Caliphate-provincial-map-1575-named.png

Apart from what they have said to the contrary. They have fantasies beyond the historical caliphates. They've also made it clear that they want attacks here.

Terrible title but this is quite an interesting report about how ISIS targets underage teenagers online (and in some cases the other way round)

'Theres a kind of sexiness to ISIS at the moment'

Urgh

Article here about the doctors who joined ISIS.

i might be missing something but why the hell should they be 'rescued' when they chose to assist ISIS in its project and obviously believe that chopping off heads, blowing shit up, raping people for being part of religions you dont like, and the like is what god wants? They chose to go there and be complicit in the regime. What happened to personal responsibility? People don't just look at this stuff and get brainwashed, if that was the case most of the people replying to this thread would have gone to syria by now.

I mean I can understand it if its some thirteen year old kid but these people are fucking doctors, they have been sympathetic to violent jihad for years, joining a group that was on about 'the khilafah' before ISIS in its current state even existed, why assume they need to be rescued? They need to be charged with war crimes ffs and be locked up and the key thrown away, not treated as dupes or people who need to be saved from anything. Why should they be saved? They obviously like ISIS enough to leave the uk and go off ro work for them and im sure 'Caliph Ibrahim' is only to happy to have them there.

i wouldn't take the word 'rescue' too seriously, if such an operation were considered - i wouldn't doubt that some initial planning was done, but theres a plan for everything somewhere dark in the MOD/FCO, so don't read anything into that - its interests would have been to capture a group of educated, intelligent(!) people who are trained observers, who would have intimate knowledge of an IS recruitment/traffiking pipeline and who would probably have had intimate access to all manner of senior IS people by dint of their profession.

the aim would not have been to return them to the bossom of their families with a 'now don't be silly again' and a double chocolate ration for nerves, it would be to wring from them every detail of their experiences and then send them to the deepest cells in Belmarsh for the next 100 years.

from what i read in the papers - and understanding the meaning behind the words - such operations were considered both too difficult and too dangerous, and a more militarily and politically conservative approach of 'listen to their phone calls and drop a Paveway on them' has been addopted.
