The Islamic state

What's bizarre about it ? While IS tie the SAA down Al nusra advance elsewhere . While Al nusra ties the army down IS advance elsewhere . The only essential difference between the 2 Al Qaeda factions is one has already declared the caliphate while the other believes it should be declared after they take over Syria . That's why one attacks other terrorist groups for not being loyal to the caliphate , while the other will work with them until they establish theirs . They were all best of mates not so long back. Al nusra itself was founded by IS .

Logic dictates that if IS are keeping the army tied up in one place then there's less resources available to stop al nusra somewhere else . And vice versa . Don't see why that would make anyone happy who's remotely sensible .

And then when they're all eventually gone we'll have zombie Nazis from the Moon to contend with...

No we won't , especially not we . It's what the Syrians who'll be forced to live in either caliphate , IS or AN will have to contend with in the event of the armies defeat which is the issue . And mere nazis would even be preferable to this lot .

11 000 tortured to death in the regimes prisons since the uprising started. Many of the mutilated bodies were sent back to their families or dumped in rebellious areas with eyes gouged out, genitals missing, noses cut off and tongues cut out.

100 000+ civilians killed by the same regime via things like being deliberately targeted for illegal barrel bombs.

Gosh i hope they win so they can continue to protect the people from ISIS.

There are other differences. Read the link I posted back to Frogwoman above.

It is only wrong when they torture people on behalf of western powers. When they do it off their own backs that's fighting extremism.

He won't he has no need to. He is here to sell a picture nothing else. On the ulraine thead he just posted RT stuff without links and as if was the result of his research rather then parroted propaganda. On this one he just reproduces pro-regime anti-FSA almasdarnews with the links removed to again give the same picture.

Rudaw is very unreliable, they post pro-PKK, pro-YPG and anti-ISIS stuf without really bothering to source it.

i had the feeling they were. i find it really hard to believe isis are banning prayers at eid, like i know there's lots of theories going round among salafists that they're "kharawij" (ie some devilish sect that stops them looking at their own ideology and role in the process of making someone sympathetic to their views) although these theories are commonplace elsewhere in the non-salafist muslim world too i think.

If anyone cares:

Rudaw, set up (2000s, entered Turksat 2006 ?) as it was by Necirvan Barzani, has always been pro-KDP in general but with a Necirvan tilt.
Rudaw's particular anti-PKK/HDP stance means it is the only Kurdish channel with HQ's outside Turkey's borders that is able to broadcast on Turksat.
Also on the KDP wing is the main KDP channel Kurdistan TV (early 90s ?) and there is Kurdistan 24 set up (2014) by Masrur Barzani, with a Masrur tilt.

Rudaw's ISIS and Erbil eid claim, it comes from Ismet Rajab, the KDP's chief in Musul, who fled Musul when ISIS took over to go to Duhok. Eid morning prayers are like a holiday celebration, so they might have been banned to stop grumbling about how meagre the holiday handouts/parcels etc are, it's not beyond possibility.

hmm yeah. If its true (and i am still a wee bit sceptical) its pretty damning tbh. Then again the hardcore isis fans aren't put off by people being drowned in cages or used as sex slaves so they wouldnt be put off by this.

Interesting counterpoint to the IS can't run a piss-up in a brewery far as ameanaties go, type articals late last year.

Hubris is a tardy killer.

Well in lots of areas (most?) they can't really, however in places like fallujah where the govt has no legitimacy, well...

If anyone cares , apart from the long term Israeli funding and assistance of the peshmerga crew , there's been videos floating about since the Iraqi invasion of young Kurdish girls being led to their deaths by grinning Kurdish police . Their crime , adultery . Ie having a relationship out of wedlock and without parental consent . And the sentence stoning to death by their peers . It was many years ago I watched that , not long after bush went in. And I stopped the video before the stoning started . But ever since I've had an un abiding hatred of that peshmerga lot . To this day I can't get that young girl out of my head being led there by ....grinning ...kurdish cops in modern cop uniforms . She was dressed in modern style like any teenager ,and you could see in her walk she knew she was dead even though the vid was poor quality .Iraqi Kurdistan peshmerga can go and fuck itself . IMHO .

I've always supported the PKK but that other lot are scum.
