The 'I have some sort of lurgy but don't know if it is corona or just a cold' thread

I've got a cold. I sort of knew it wasn't covid because it took ages to arrive and has been mostly sinus-based. Still sucks though. And of course now people like me can work at home so you have to just plough on through it. No daytime TV for us anymore!

Went down with it on Thursday, third time. Already felt better yesterday and fine today, but still testing positive so it's going to be a pretty dull weekend for me.

My 'cold' is still going 1 week on. Now more of a sinus infection and bit of a chest infection as well. :(
I tested negative, but I've been ill for nearly two weeks now! I tried to go back to work on Wednesday but was completely blocked up and coughing so obviously that wasn't going to work. I've just tried to sleep as much as possible the last 3 days and it's very slowly lifting.

I had covid very very mildly about 6- 8 weeks ago. Now I have what I thought was a seasonal cold- feel shit leading up to head cold- head cold and snot arrives (normally 24 hours but this time it it took about three days) usually the cold goes in 24 hours cus of my use of hippy herbal tinctures and steaming my head in an albas oil bath.
However its hanging around and I have headache/face ache can not hear in my right ear and have absolutely no sense of taste or smell. The amount of snot has lessened.

So will be doing a covid test when it arrives from the shop.

Negative.

Yep, we all had this dreadful snotty/blocked nose/sinus rubbish over the last two weeks. The slow drawn out (hacking cough) clearance made me feel very anxious as I had ear surgery booked for yesterday. Thankfully I was just well enough, just in time to convince the anaesthetist that I was good to go under. Mind you, i still had a good hack up in the hospital car park before going into day surgery! Mrs B is still feeling rough with it and having to look after me now; poor thing.

So ten days later and still no sense of smell or taste and right ear still partially blocked. Remnants of cold still. Also feeling quite fatigued by the early evening even if I've not been at work.

One of the nurses at work reckons this is covid but the lft's are not picking it up. I have no evidence of this. Has anyone else heard similar?

raises hand dunno if Covid or not, I don't want to do a test because my nose keeps bleeding anyway every time I dare to actually blow it, shoving a swab up there is not on my list of wants. Feel shite though.
