The dog thread is better than the cat thread, because it features dogs.

Oh weltweit - really sorry about the loss of the august and dignified Larry. Always loved seeing his pics. Something about that hefty neck and grave manner always made me think of Mark Rylance as Thomas Cromwell in his big dark fur coat . Hope you and the home are doing OK in the great hound's absence.

Sadly we think that the sun addict has bladder/TCC cancer. She's had blood in her urine with a lot of pain for the last 3-4 weeks, but has responded well to gabapentin so is comfortable. It's definitely not a UTI. She had a ultrasound and next stage would be either a urine test, or they could do a full cycostopy but that would cost £3,500 and not really sure what more it would tell us as ultimately we'd probably stick to NSAIDs and pain relief.

Not going to lie I'm pretty sad. We've had an amazing two and a half years with her. Nursed her through a double teca and she just loves chilling out. I knew it would happen at some point but kind of hoped she'd get one more summer. But then I guess you always do.

It probably won't end up being cancer now and I'll curse my partner for looking it up in detail as I felt okay about it yesterday.

My 13 year old doggy passed away a couple of weeks ago.

Since then the doggy I used to take walks, his owner is unable to look after him so welcome Benji. He is dealing with stage two heart worm and is skinny as hell.

Still have nine dogs and eight cats, no rest for the wicked.

Gorgeous Benji. But I'm sorry to hear about the 13 year old.
