The Behringer DDM4000 DJ mixer

I've never used them, are they as good as/better than the KT stuff? I'm a bit of a KT fanboy tbh

They`re quite a bit ahead.

The ability to change filters in the eq`s to about every variation, a 31 band eq in the main inputs , limiter settings that are useful! etc etc. The only niggle is that they get full of dust! My one had to go back to XTA to get the three front pots changed as they were full of crud , they are dial encoders so it would jump up values when you turn down...very frustrating. The cure was a filter over the side fan...doh! Other than that it`s been 100% reliable and quite forgiving to bad voltages and harsh enviroments.
I use it with audiocore when I can and the ability for a laptop at Foh next to a band engineer is better than loads of returns adding to your copper count!

Saying all that tho` at " work" the Dolby Lake is the don and they are doing a job this weekend with 8 of them all networked on Dante running down fibre. 1000 channels of simultaneous audio at 96khz..! FIR filters and very easy user interface.... BUT now discontinued and unsupported..gulp!

I thought we had a kit porn area? And it`s a bit " Mornington Crescent" how we got from a Behringer DJ mixer to a Dolby Lake..!:D

.p.

This thing looks bloody amazing, and according to the email I've had from a guy who's just bought one, actually appears to be built well, which makes a change from Behringer :D

I'm seriously tempted, you can pick them up for just over £250, which is a ridiculous price for the spec.

Mate I nearly went for one of these a couple of weeks ago and I got talked out of it by every single person I met. One guy in the shop was on his 3rd one as 2 had screwed up.

Decided on a PMC 280 instead

bit of a resurrection.

my mate got one yesterday, on my recommendation after i'd had a play with one in a venue on a small pile of martin audio. the sound was stunningly clear, maybe better than my allen and heath. if it had sends on each channel for running a kaoss pad i'd trade in my xone 92. not delved into the effects and sampler so much yet but they seem to be more than usable.

picked up second hand for £180

We use some shockingly bad DJ mixers and CD decks at the Albert. We were promised a new set up by the brewery but it never arrived.

Worst of all, there's no comedy sound effects built into the mixer.

Still can't quite believe a Behringer is up to much :)

I've had about 5 years good service out of one of these, love it:
