The Behringer DDM4000 DJ mixer

going deaf for a living
This thing looks bloody amazing, and according to the email I've had from a guy who's just bought one, actually appears to be built well, which makes a change from Behringer :D

I'm seriously tempted, you can pick them up for just over £250, which is a ridiculous price for the spec.

Bees saying he likes something by Behringer?

I must be on drugs.

I know

I'd seen it launched and just dismissed it, but my mate who's got one is raving about it, apparently it's a cut above their usual gear - really well built, everything works, and the facilities are ahead of anything the competition has to offer :)

behringer do make the odd decent product, i'm a massive fan of their digital crossover, but i'd wait to see what happens to the faders after a few gigs if you like ragging the line faders (the manual doesn't mention if they're replaceable). does look tasty on paper though :)

Apparently all the faders are optical (no audio is passing through them at all), and are replaceable, so no problems there.

The more I read about it the more I want one.

This is weird :D

what behringer seem to do is copy popular pieces of equipment then sell them for a fraction of the price, great if you're starting out. the problem imo comes when they hit production and corners get cut. their europower amps are very popular, the dcx2496 is better than units that retail for over twice the price.

Only fault I can see is the position of the headphone jack, which is a bit bonkers - halfway up the side? Which genius came up with that?

i just flicked through the manual and it only mention the crossfader being replaceable? if they're optical they should have a much longer life though... unless you snap the fuckers off :hmm::oops:

it'd have to have a socket on the end for easy transfer of dj's, easily doable though- good point. not that i'm in the market now, though at some point i feel i will need to go digital with traktor or somesuch.

that's pretty tasty, but does your klark teknik high beat my pair of ultradrives? :D

fuuuuuuck! i just googled that! it costs more than half as much as my whole rig!

eta: so yes a dn9848 hi beats a pair of 2496s
