Thatcher Death Disco

And 'Look What I Stole For Us Darling' kicking off side 2.

Gale Force Wind for the death disco, and Birth School Work Death by The Godfathers while you're at it.

i can't believe Fuck Everybody Who Voted Tory is on the crappy download site i use for free downloads, i'm so happy :)

What? The Oi Polloi song? They changed that to "Fuck Everybody who voted Tony" which i thought was clever. Deek is a top man despite the shameful Mulligan and O Hare appearance

Best Thatcher song was "Maggie" by Toxic Ephex set to an old folk song

Aren't they playing soon?
I don't know. Did you hear something? I would go. Here, whatever happened to Bill Carter from the Screaming Blue Messiahs? One of my favourite guitarists ever probably. Good And Gone for the death disco I think.

Arrrgh! I used to know that bunch of pricks - still, the song does at least name Thatcher.

I have a cassette of something called (IIRC) Acid Party which is a dance track with Thatcher's voice on it compiled from cut-ups of her speeches, so she sounds like she's saying 'Acid party, come to the rave!' and other groovy things. It was done around the time the Tories enacted legislation to stop raves in the late 80's - quite clever it was, for the time. It was done by some kid in his bedroom, I sent off for it from the NME, there were only a couple of thousand made I think. It's maybe findable on soulseek. Anyone else here remember or have a copy of this?

Re Anti Pasti, Flux/Epileptics were after suing them a year or two back, dunno if owt came of that (for using 2 Years Too Late and gloating about it)

downloads.nl, if anyone's looking for it. If your computer's anything like mine it'll start chirping in disapproval that you're downloading illegally but ignore it.

They (The Godfathers) are playing on July 24th at the Garage. I'm going to Berlin around then for 5 weeks so I'm thinking of stopping in London and seeing them on the way. Who knows, maybe that'll be The Day.

I could round up a few old mates and do an a capella version of the song we used to sing at primary school:

Maggie Thatcher
Chuck her in a bin
Slam the lid on
And sellotape her in

And yes I am that young that I was at primary school when Thatcher was PM. I was at primary school when Major was PM in fact.

Masters of War by Dylan

I hope that you die

and that your death will come soon

and I'll follow your casket on a pale afternoon

And I'll watch while your body is lowered to it's death bed

And I'll stand over your grave till I'm sure that you're dead!

Is it ?????

For possibly the first time ever, Thatcher is not the person i most want to see die. Maybe i should start a Griffin Death Disco thread.

Stand Down Margaret - The Beat..

"I see no joy, I see only sorrow,
I see no chance of your bright new tomorrow,
So stand down Margaret.."

To celebrate her dislike of publuic transport and stating that anyone over the age of 35 on a bus is a failure, how about "The Wheels on the Bus (go round and round)".
