Birth School Work Death by The Godfathers while you're at it.
Tis a superb album, I didn't like the subsequent stuff much but they were after all swimming against a tide of cobblers, baggy and bleeps.Great lost classic.
And 'Look What I Stole For Us Darling' kicking off side 2.
Gale Force Wind for the death disco, and Birth School Work Death by The Godfathers while you're at it.
i can't believe Fuck Everybody Who Voted Tory is on the crappy download site i use for free downloads, i'm so happy
I don't know. Did you hear something? I would go. Here, whatever happened to Bill Carter from the Screaming Blue Messiahs? One of my favourite guitarists ever probably. Good And Gone for the death disco I think.Aren't they playing soon?
Arrrgh! I used to know that bunch of pricks - still, the song does at least name Thatcher.
I have a cassette of something called (IIRC) Acid Party which is a dance track with Thatcher's voice on it compiled from cut-ups of her speeches, so she sounds like she's saying 'Acid party, come to the rave!' and other groovy things. It was done around the time the Tories enacted legislation to stop raves in the late 80's - quite clever it was, for the time. It was done by some kid in his bedroom, I sent off for it from the NME, there were only a couple of thousand made I think. It's maybe findable on soulseek. Anyone else here remember or have a copy of this?
What a start to an allbum
this thread reminds me of summat you promised me...
Aye. I've got a copy of it. It's called Maggies last party
just downloaded this, oh sweet lord i'd forgotten just how genius this is.
You're all so lovely and helpful, thank you.
Could you point me in the direction of the download please?
Have tried slsk, but no joy
Need to be ready and prepared for the glorious day
Ah. Got the V.I.M. track - was after the compilation mentioned earlier. DOH!
They (The Godfathers) are playing on July 24th at the Garage. I'm going to Berlin around then for 5 weeks so I'm thinking of stopping in London and seeing them on the way. Who knows, maybe that'll be The Day.Aren't they playing soon?
Sellotape won't hold her I fear.
Cue raft of new anti-terrorpiss legislation. If she gets a state funeral (which was apparently on the cards) I will personally piss in the font of St Pauls
