Taylor Swift mega-thread

Have an amazing time. Have you heard about your rumoured surprise guest?
There was no surprise guest and I couldn't see Tiny Taylor at all (tiny because she looked so small in huge stadium). I think I caught glimpses of the real Taylor twice - and the screen I could only see a bit of it. My friend who is 6 foot tall had an amazing time and could see it all :D

Short arse? Don't go in the general standing area! Managed 5 hours without going to toilet once, or even getting a drink, so that's something. Had a ball singing and the atmosphere was incredible, just wish I could actually have seen more of her... My feet hurt! Goodnight! xx

edit: There were A LOT of Americans there, as it's cheaper to watch her here than back in the US!

5 hours without a drink or a wee! You’re mad. 😄

Yeah I was surprised no guest but would have loved your surprise songs. I’m still very salty about her taking Long Live off the set list.

Yeah there’s been loads of Americans all over Europe. I thought our ticket buying was an ordeal but theirs was awful.

The not drinking was fine as I was too busy singing & dancing :D But the standing!!!!. Everyone's feet were suffering. Every now and then someone would have to crouch down for a bit. And the not being able to see anything properly made it feel very surreal and dream like. (and frustrating). But hey, I was lucky I even managed to get to go so, overall, a pretty awesome experience.

I read the talk about rain on the news, we were standing on the uncovered section, and it really was just about 10mins of light rain, when she was singing "All too well" and maybe 5 mins earlier on. As predicted by me, I had a little cry during Marjorie, couldn't even sing the damn song properly, I was overwhelmed with emotion so I just listened and shed a couple of tears.

I made a very short of video of what it was like for me on Monday.

I ended up watching the live feed last night, so I saw Florence and Jack Antonoff join her on stage. And the new video got released at the end...

It had reached 1million views in under 15minutes

I've been watching TikTok videos of parents surprising their children with tickets for Taylor Swift. Its made me blub with happiness.

Oh, the marriage proposals during Love Story (I think that's what the song is called)

Yes, I'm easily emotionally manipulated.

Her explanation for not speaking out sooner about the Vienna cancellations makes a lot of sense

Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives. I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together. I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London. My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us

Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows. In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.

And then London felt like a beautiful dream sequence. All five crowds at Wembley Stadium were bursting with passion, joy, and exuberance. The energy in that stadium was like the most giant bear hug from 92,000 people each night, and it brought me back to a place of carefree calm up there.

Taylor Swift has so many songs I've not listened to much else recently - Lover is such an excellent album too - I'm obsessed with the lyrics on 'Death by a thousand cuts' and it's a lovely song to play on the guitar as well - I found this live version yesterday. She got inspiration for this song from the movie “Someone Great”

I love the way she put these words together...
"I look through the windows of this love
Even though we boarded them up
Chandelier still flickering here...

I ask the traffic lights if it'll be alright
they say, 'I don't know'"

The whole song is filled with gems like this Taylor Swift – Death By A Thousand Cuts

I went from knowing one of her albums well (Midnights) to thinking she's one of the best song writers ever in the space of a few months :D
