Tax returns 18/19

Made a brew today and thought I had a bit of spare time to cast an eye over the tax affairs of tooter Inc...

I've only gone and bloody extracted all the statements I need in order for 18/19 and even organised next year (as far as I can).

Feeling very pleased with myself....now to put it all away until January and the yearly last minute frustrations with the HMRC website!

Fuckers have utterly failed BB1 in science (GCSE's in May, they have covered less than 1/4 of the required topics in physics and slightly less than 1/2 in chemistry), yet I still have to cough every year

I currently have your 2018.19 tax return ready to file but am unable to do so until Xxxxxxxx invoice has been settled. Please could you arrange for payment of the invoice so that I may submit your tax return to HMRC.

The fucking cheek of it. Are they allowed to do this, I thought it was done and dusted. They have never threatened me with this previously. I normally pay their invoice within a month of issue

I pay mine by Direct Debit and so far they have got me back more in tax refunds than what they cost.

I got stung for a hefty £350 extra because I'd added Gift Aid to the money I'd given away to charities. Won't be using that again, then.

You'll be getting a late filing penalty too, any day now.

Why? I given away a load of money to charity, got stung by the taxman as a result but paid my taxes in full. What am I missing?

That's shitty. I'd pay up, then invoice them for any late penalties HMRC hit you with. Either way I'd be taking my business elsewhere.

Apparently “it’s the partners direction” to chase up bills. I pointed out I wait at least a month before I chase my invoices

anyways paid up and sent them my next lot of returns a year early (need to get a mortgage)

onwards and upwards
