22nd Streatham Kite Day 2023

After an extended intermission we are pleased to announce the return of Streatham Common Kite Day. The date we have fixed on is Sunday 14th May 2023 from 11:00-17:00.

A great FREE event for all Streathamites, kite fans and those who want a fun day out from further afield. It has everything…music, food…and kites!

Volunteers will be needed so if you want to join in – please let us know. We can only make it happen with the community being a part of it. its good fun and you get to be part of a really important Streatham Event.

Despite the damage caused to part of the Common by circus bringing vehicles on site by an unconventional route, it seems KiteDay is still going ahead this Sunday.

Here's hoping for both sunshine and wind.

Busy weekend but I'm hoping to make it for the first time.

About 10mph from the south east. A bit less in the morning.

10-12mph is ideal. Most kites don't like much more than 15mph. When I left at just before 3pm there must have been getting on for 100 kites in the sky, most of them kids kites.
