Agree about Hamilton, but mainly because he won it last year. His car wasn’t as fast as the Ferrari, he just made it look like his was because he’s the best driver, which is why it was no surprise he won the title again.

As in previous years, I'm disqualifying those choosing to domicile in tax havens, so that excludes Hamilton and Thomas, as well as Simon Yates I think.

Adam Peaty should be worth a mention.

I’m sure I could google them but I assume that the personality bit of the award suggests that they are well known.

I know whether or not I have heard of them isn’t the deciding factor but are these well known sports people and I am now too old and out of touch like the judge who asked “who’s Gazza”?

Just googled them. Seems they have both been very successful in their sports, so fair play to them although I note the first google result I got for Asher-smith said “Who is...” and Yarnold is 40/1 so I guess neither are likely to win.

Dina's achievements were extraordinary this year, but athletics seems to be a bit of a niche sport these days. She has my vote.

I am a big athletics fan and I watched the winter Olympics both 4 years ago and this year so I knew them both.

I am no fan of cycling, I don't follow theTour de France but I do know who Geraint Thomas is
