Excellent stuff - I can't say I have the emotional space for it now, but in the 70s his music was often a relief if you found yourself having to listen to daytime Radio 1.

I’m not particularly a fan and have never bought or listened regularly to any of his music. He’s a bit like Rod Stewart in that respect: he’s part of the U.K. fabric of music that would create a gaping hole if they weren’t there, regardless of being a fan.
