Somewhere to go between St Pancreas and St Johns Wood

miss direct

misfungled
I have a few hours to spend: arriving at St Pancreas and will eventually be going to a friend's in St John's Wood. Will have luggage so don't want to walk around too much. Any ideas of something/somewhere I can go? I haven't been to London for ages and only have an afternoon there so would be nice to do something rather than just sit on a bench.

British Library has luggage lockers and you might get away with that?

There is also Left Luggage in St P at the north end.

Wellcome is always good for a couple of hours of staring at things and going "Well, I never."

Leaving luggage would be good. And a bit of well I never!

Oh, great! Do you know what the towpath is like? Will it be ok with a wheely suitcase?
It will be ok. Not great but not significantly worse than streets. Some damp patches but shallow.

I walk from King's Cross to Regents Park regularly.

Takes about an hour depending on your pace.

Near St. P You have the coal yards which is fancy. Then you have Camden Market with it'd food stalls about the halfway point. Can be awkward when busy.

Then the canal gets quiet as it goes passed primrose hill and london zoo. As you pass those you get to St John's.

Five minutes walk to the famous cock tavern on phoenix road. Treat yourself to a fine pint of Guinness and a jameson's chaser. And some of the best conversation in london
