I'm conflicted with Murphy. He plays exactly the kind of snooker I like to watch.

Enjoyed that. Only started watching from the quarter final and didn't catch all the matches. I wanted Wilson to win but Murphy fully deserved it. Anyway, what have people got against Murphy, Does he have some dark side I don't know about

In every one of Stephen Hendry's comments about Murphy he mentioned how he used to "look around" the arena. But now he's a good boy and stays focused. I also laughed at deeply conservative with a small c Hazel Irvine's comments about how it's all well and good being a showman but sometimes it can be too much. So I infer that people got annoyed by Murphy playing the giddy goat.

Murphy 100% success rate with the rest. Maybe he should play all his shots like that!

Never liked him after he sneakily got Stephen Maguire docked a frame. He's also a massive yes man to the snooker authorities. His personal life has also been rather problematic. Being some diehard Christian yet cheating on his wife with a prostitute.

See, that's why I usually avoid celebrity news and prefer to know as little as possible about their personal lives. I agree, he sounds a bit of a dick but as long as they're not a massive, racist, fascist, nonce, etc, etc, then I'm not that mithered about sporting people's less savoury personal side. In truth, I expect 99.99% of "heroes" from the world of entertainment to have feet of clay and sometimes it's better not knowing. Knowing their bad side can stop me from innocently enjoying their sporting/artistic skill and simply enjoying the game as it is.

So you may well be thinking, why the fuck did I ask then? Answer, I have no fucking clue

Holy fucking shit. I mean, Murphy is obnoxious but he's not promoting woo that could actually kill people. (I've had cancer and it runs in my family, so it's a sore point.)

I know it might not come across that way but the strong dislike I feel for Carter and Murphy is not quite on the same level as the white hot hatred I have for Musk, Trump, Putin, Netanyahu etc.
