Should AI copy and paste responses be banned from political discussions here?

Another question, once AI avatars really take off (next 12-36 months) how will you know a person on here isn't just an avatar engaging in conversation using linguistic styles trained on the avatars' owner?

I really don't understand why they're still posting here at all and I'm not saying this to have a go at you and the other mods, but I think you should know that they're a fairly large part of the reason I'm planning to leave as soon as I've got round to saving all the stuff I want to keep from old PM convos
Sorry to hear you're thinking go leaving Iona. I hope you re-consider

Sorry to read this. It’s good to take a break from time to time. But I hope you eventually return, if it’s not too damaging to your mental health.

Many here think so highly of their own opinion. Pathetic, prideful and imprudent blockheads so afraid that AI may actually teach them something.
Go to grass, all of you...
Would you be in favour of posting posts that consisted soley of a quotes from a book?

It is becoming one
How do you define "species", and how do you justify the claim that Artificial Intelligence is becoming a species? There is not one AI, so how can AI in all its forms be a single species?
How can a programme that scans X-rays of patients for evidence of tumours be a species?

I doubt that poster has thought this through, or for that matter is capable of much thought about anything. They're only here to wind people up.

You’ll learn nothing by posting your own opinions. Reading, reviewing and posting clear, concise informative articiallly created thoughts of an amalgamation of learned experiences help us all learn and do better
This is straightforwardly incorrect. It is absolutely possible to learn things through the process of forming an opinion from a vague thought or feeling in your head through writing it down and developing it into an argument in order to make a worthwhile post. Think about the Socratic method, which (as I understand it, I'm not an expert on it) can involve teaching people things not through telling them any new information but just by asking them questions to make them reflect on their own premises and assumptions. You can learn a lot more through a method like that than by copypasting some robocock's gibberish.

I don't agree that a species requires biology, at least as we understand it in terms of carbon & water

Also, I really hope Iona doesn't leave.
Their choice, not mine. On the board for 20 years & announces a dramatic flounce because of a handful of my posts, none of which were directed at them? Ridiculous. They should get over themselves...
