I watched this. Don't think they deserved all the bad press tbh, it seemed like they were just a family trying to do their best under extremely difficult circumstances.
I'm appalled at how the media treated them ffs.
There would have been one, maybe two. They don't usually like to appear on camera for various reasons.I'm really surprised a police liasion officer wasnt with them to help deal with all that.
I've not been following this that closely, was her mum bad?The way her own mother treated her ffs!
But the press treated them in a horrible and cold manor.
Really, I thought they lived on an estate.
Really, I thought they lived on an estate.
Dear god no
Yup. It's because the press can only understand nice middle class people like themselves.I'm appalled at how the media treated them ffs.
She doesn't want to go home, makes you wonder why...
The police have no legal right, even if they or the girl wanted the police to have. As above, she's effectively in care at the mo.No, the police aren't sending her home until they've finished questioning her. I suspect they're worried the parents may influence her story...
She can go home whenever she likes, she's in the care of Kirklees Family Services on a voluntary basis.
She doesn't want to go home.
Voluntary as in "I don't want to go home to face my abusive violent surplus stepfather or my drunk gargoyle faced chav neighbours pretending to care about my welfare and would rather stay here".
The mother of Shannon Matthews, the girl who went missing for several weeks earlier this year, has been charged with her kidnap and false imprisonment.
The new charges were revealed as Karen Matthews appeared at Leeds Crown Court.
The 32-year-old, of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, denies those charges and an earlier charge of perverting the course of justice.
Michael Donovan, 40, also from Dewsbury, pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnap and false imprisonment.
The uncle of Mrs Matthews' former partner, Craig Meehan, also now faces a charge of perverting the course of justice, which he denies.
Mrs Matthews did not enter a plea on child neglect charges.

Its songs include ‘Shannon Ain’t Dead (She’s under me bed)’, ‘You’re A Paedophile’ and ‘Karen Calls The Maddie Hotline’.
Last night, the controversial producer said: “There will be lots of Mumsnet Karens losing their sh*t about whether this should be allowed. Nearly all of them won't have seen it or would never watch it, but that won't stop them from wading in!"
This has been a long term project of Kunt; I think since around 2010; the songs were on his Spotify at one point as I recall listening to them a few years ago.
More recently is has been a live musical at Edinburgh a few years ago and then the film had a premiere in Leeds and London back in the spring.
Don't remember liking the songs but perhaps they’ll work as a musical. I’ll probably work out how to buy it on Amazon when it’s released
