He's an old man now. I dunno what date he was born exactly but I know it was July 2008 so Happy birthday Isambard!

Even though you're a grumpy old sod who only ever very, very rarely lets me anywhere near you! :D

Isambard! I'd forgotten about him! Still got his mittens on
I just tried to find his baby pics, but they've gone. Do you still have one, for comparison?

Hehe I'm pretty damn chuffed with myself I've kept him alive this long. Another year and I've gone above the average  I think it's because I haven't loved him to death. Chameleons weren't built for love (even though I love him). I see some posts in some forums where they constantly handle them, over feed them, water them too much and so on. It seemingly escapes them that chameleons are solitary creatures and that this particular species are Yemen chameleons...Yemen! It's dry as a bone there! There's one woman on a reptile forum who has things like 'I'm Amy's Chamelemum' with a little heart or whatever next to it. Granted females live shorter lives but she's gone through 3 chameleons, one of them male, in the time I've had Isambard

Edit: sure moose I'll put his baby pics up too :D

You can love him from afar, not everyone's a hugger :D I'd struggle to keep my hands off him, he's so lovely - perhaps as well I have a cat. Well done to you both, and here's to another year!

:D Thanks

Yeah I've never really been one for keeping pets because I'm not one that gets much joy out of holding animals, although I do like playing with my mum's dogs and having them on my lap (pic below) when I go and visit. Keeping a chameleon's like having a fish, more to observe. If you have the patience you can get a chameleon to at least tolerate being handled but I still think that's not necessarily cruel but I just don't see the point? They clearly would rather be left alone! I quite like that 'fuck off an leave me alone' attitude they have though :D.

Anyway here's a pic of my mum's dogs Archie (black and white one) and Ozzy:

We took the dogs out to the purbecks today. It's irritating that the only beaches the dogs could be off lead were rocky beaches that aren't much fun for us. I want to swim with my dogs dammit.

Anyway, we went to Lulworth Cove which they love.

Not very good pics but it's so beautiful there.

We went for ice cream afterwards and they were selling doggy ice cream. 3 quid a bloody pot, my dogs are so spoilt. :D

Regardless of the chipping, a collar does let other hoomins know that yes, Lucy does have a home of her own so no, she doesn't need feeding or taking in by anyone else.
She's gorgeous - you don't want her to get catnapped, do you?

kittehs are fairly good at the "i am a poor starving stray" line even if they have a collar...

Lovely looking place ... :)

Seriously why is my cat sitting in the rain refusing stoutly to come in? She's soaked and won't budge. There's thunder too.

She has barely been in in ages :(

Yeah, we barely saw ours in the summer either. One of our dogs would be the same if we let him, he loves sitting out there in the rain.

Ben - having been tried to a post and abandoned in heavy rain storm the week before we adopted him - is/was not too keen on walks in the rain,; one night last week he asked for "bedtime walk" but hadn't realised what the weather was doing, when he did...... down he sat and sulked (ears down and so on).
But yesterday we went for our normal lunchtime walk so he ran about the long grass and got as wet as if he had been in the river ! happy as can be.......chasing his ball.

Meg has been out for days. I know it's summer but she's old and wobbly. The others are talking rather a lot and seem upset so I fear the worst. I've been holding on for a few days before saying anything hoping it is not real but she can't climb any more so I have no idea where she is given she can't go far :(

Oh no - such a worry when you just don't know. Hopefully she's just laying low somewhere, or maybe you'll get word . . .

:(

come home safe, meg

Thank you both. I'm in bits about it cos she's my soft old sod. She's a polydactyl with jumbo feet and she can high five on request and I miss her so. She's a teenager so ancient in cat years. The others are being so overly fussy and chatty I do fear they know :(
