Scumoween squat party, London

some people who start making shit music go on to make good music

Fair point.

just enthused ravers/crap enthused tune makers wanting to put their area and relation to raving on the map with a tune about their area

As is this, tbf.

I just can't see a lot of point in releasing something which someone will listen to once and say "well, that was shit" and never listen to again.

It's like putting out something on the first take and not bothering to try to improve it.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing the Earl Grey Remix! :D

anyway it is just people after their 5 mins of fame init
imagine being the bumpkin who did the Norwich remix and dropping it out of a heavily strapped down stack to hundreds of kiddies lapping and leaping it up!

The Norwich one might be musical gold, I've not heard it! :D

I spose if one of us was to take Grinders lyrics and musicify it and stick it on youtube we'd all have a laugh but it wouldn't be musical gold ... someone like Onky could come along and wonder why the fuck we bothered a few years later. some stuff is just funny for 5 minutes.

But you should make it musical gold before sticking it on you tube.

And that is the point I am making.

I'm not telling people to not make the tracks, just put a bit of fucking effort in!

I completely get that, ddraig. I don't make music because it would be terrible. People should say if something is terrible.

Some of these efforts shouldn't even see the light of day.

I think saying "What's the point, then?!" if you're not aiming for 'musical gold' is entirely fair enough.

If everyone is off their face on ket it doesnt matter how shite the version is ;)

and some of them probably never saw the light of day! just the inside of a skanky dark warehouse
ok maybe the dawn on the ridgeway :D

some people who start making shit music go on to make good music
normally it's the other way round though, people who make good music go on to make shit music - e.g. paul mccartney going from 'love me do' to 'live and let die' and then coming out with toss like 'the frog chorus'. and how many people are there who listen to anything the stones did after 'exile on main street'?

have you seen the amount of crap people put up on there??! If it had to be good then there would be about three uploads a day!

Yeah. When's someone going to put on a squat party for the over-35s eh?

With a creche, and nice cups of tea and comfy chairs. And a nice early finish.

'And then I drank 3 cups of Earl Gray, and I stayed until half past ten.';)

Someone does do parties like that. Except they don't finish early... and you might see things you've never seen before.

Can still get a good cup of tea, though. :)

I try to help clear up but I normally end up in a corner rocking, or just end up making more mess as I try and help

There is a one night in Swansea and one night in Norwich iirc

:hmm:

<heads to bed before 10:30 :cool: :D >

OK I've seen some later posts now, I bet I was in bed by midnight even whenever the fuck Betws Mountain was all the same .... maybe still living back in SCUMSQUAT CENTRAL ... and still not being arsed to go .... :p
