The Stranglers drummer Jet Black dies after ‘years of ill health’ aged 84

The musician was also an author, business owner and designer, and owned a fleet of ice-cream vans that were once used to tour the UK

RIP . That's him and Greenfield gone, very underrated band the Stranglers I think .

Strange we both chose the same track. Although his drumming was very much in the background for most Stranglers tracks. This one you notice it.

Sad news. The Stranglers were one of my very favourite bands from that era. Couldn't believe he was 84.

Back in the day The Stranglers were known as the grandads of punk and this was partly down to Jet Black being an old codger.

Like others the band played a massive part of my musical upbringing & my first proper gig in the late 70s at the Rainbow when I was 13. Went to all their London gigs for the next few years. Great band.
