Restaurant recommendation in Peckham please.

an ting!
Can anyone recommend a good place to eat?
Not bothered about type of food if it's a decent place.
Somewhere which can cater for maybe 10 people.

Or, a decent boozer that may fit the above query.
It'll be on a Saturday evening.

Cheers

have been to the 'White Horse' once or twice, we had the South London Drinks festive perineum gathering there once or twice, but must have been xmas 2018 the last time we did...

and don't remember the food being like that.

White Horse changed hands a few years ago.

Yada's is nice, would fit 10 people. Not a fancypants restaurant, but tasty food. Kurdish, BYO.

Oh and whilst waiting for the Overground on the way home we spotted the Peckham Riviera, sounded lively. What’s that place like?

The Kudu chain is profiled in the Times today in "Kudu Grill — why everyone is going to Peckham for dinner"

"Kudu was soon followed by Smokey Kudu, a cocktail bar under the railway arches, and Curious Kudu, a private dining and events space. Now they have opened Kudu Grill in what was once the Edinburgh Castle pub on the border with Nunhead. “Kudu is small plates and delicate, more of a date-night place, but Kudu Grill is very different. Being South African, Patrick was keen to showcase his barbecuing skills, so this one is all about the braai – cooking over an open fire. It’s a place for family and friends to come together over plates of meat and fish.”

There's a bit of kickback in the comments that the article is by Patrick Williams - the co-owner of Kudu.

Yada is great, the good value made even more so by the BYOB. I went to Ganapati a couple of times and was unimpressed, average curry with a quite high price tag.

Peckham Riviera is always lively with residents who have moved into the area in the last few years. Iniatilly it was a good spot for a reasonably priced pint, but they ramped up the prices before Covid appeared (when it was called Peckham Springs) so no doubt they are even more expensive now, particularly when you drink it on picnic benches under a large gazebo.

I always thought it looked interesting- too late now i suppose if it’s changed it’s ethos
Bar Story, which is opposite and owned by the same people, is a bit better. Its feels more like a bar rather than sitting in a big marquee struggling to hear the people you are with talk.
