(they aren't siblings...)
Thanks. We went to Lamb House. Mrs LR was in her elephant because it’s Mallards in the Mapp and Lucia books. My mum makes a good cup of tea, although her coffee would be too weak for you, Danny.
How about the Heritage Centre? (disclaimer: you might not like it).
And of Course Rye Castle Museum, if you haven't been already. You might see my Mum.
I’m in Staffs, stopping over at a friend’s house tonight in Mrs LR’s childhood hometown. Which I’m very glad of because the drive up was horrible. That’s some vile weather y’all have down in the South East! I’m stressed to buggery. How much longer are you there for?
Oh, what is Darts charge? At one point there were a lot of signs saying you can pay Darts charge online. What is that? There was no website given and no real explanation. Only a lot of signs saying something like “pay Darts charge online”.
I always prefered Darts to Showaddywaddy, but I’m guessing this is something different.
But really? The Dartford crossing. Drivers pay a couple of pounds to use a fast, comfortable tunnel from Dartford to Glasgow.
But really?
Really? There weren’t toll booths? It's the Dartford crossing. You need to pay it if you have used it. Don't forget or you'll get a fine. Google dart charge gov and it'll come up.
Its the end of cash. Tolls slow the traffic and cost people to man them.Really? There weren’t toll booths?
That’s really not obvious at all! I bet non locals are caught out all the time!danny la rouge
Here's a linky for you
Pay the Dartford Crossing charge (Dart Charge)
Paying the Dart Charge: costs, creating an account, paying a fine or Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), applying for a local resident discount.www.gov.uk
Really. It's easy to forget. I do not believe there is a cash option. Maybe you can pay in advance in cash at approved outlets.Really? There weren’t toll booths?
Well, they need a better system than hoping people will Google, or ask on a bulletin board! Its the end of cash. Tolls slow the traffic and cost people to man them.
Everything ( well nearly ) is online now.
Oh danny la rouge it's no fun getting old. A similar issue is all the different parking apps all over the place as there are very few machines you can pay at.That’s really not obvious at all! I bet non locals are caught out all the time!
Also the site wasn’t working on Safari, I had to open another browser to put my card details in.
What do people without smartphones do?
Well, I had Ring Go before I got my blue badge. But this is another level of hiding things you have to pay for!Oh danny la rouge it's no fun getting old. A similar issue is all the different parking apps all over the place as there are very few machines you can pay at.
Really? There weren’t toll booths?
Well, I’ve paid, and it was only £2.50 so I’m not reclaiming, but, yeah, maybe I’d have been exempt.Re the blue badge, is your vehicle registered as tax exempt for disability? If so, stand down, no payment needed.
No, and I only used it this time because Wave told me the other route had road closures and took me this way.Did you not use the Dartford Crossing on the way down?
Isnt Urban just so bloody brilliant sometimes.Actually, this has annoyed me. I’d have ended up getting fined had I not thought to ask here.
These days you can get Darts for free on YouTube.Oh, what is Darts charge? At one point there were a lot of signs saying you can pay Darts charge online. What is that? There was no website given and no real explanation. Only a lot of signs saying something like “pay Darts charge online”.
