Ticket to Rye - recommendations

The supermarket in Rye is called Jempson’s. I’m not sure if this is just Rye or if they’re a wider concern. They seem to be in partnership with Morrisons, but also sell their own label products, including fancy looking ready meals. The main difference with the shops in Maryhill is the price. I was taken aback by a basket of essentials for a few days costing what our weekly shop does. But they appear to be the only game in town.

They have another supermarket in Peasmarsh, but nothing else. I'm guessing part of the reason that they are expensive is because they don't have the purchasing power of the larger supermarkets.
They are also closed on Sundays.
The only grocers open on Sunday is the one at the petrol station.

Mindfulness message for the day: I don’t have a holiday home or a fancy coffee machine. But actually for the next couple of weeks I do. I have a charming medieval farmhouse with an Aga on the South coast. And I can whenever I want, in return for pet sitting. Something I love doing anyway.

‘Pet sitting’??? This would be a dog right? Suddenly everything becomes clear…

Actually, have a brilliant time.

We’re in Tenterden today. Mrs LR is moseying around antique shops. The one we were just in that Raj off the TV collectors programmes was in doing the same!
Good charity shops and the lemon tree was quite nice for lunch I found

My dad does something at the museum and lives a few miles away. Not sure if he has a Nazi haircut though

Beautiful little town; I'm guessing, very sadly, there are no trains running today, which would have taken you to Bodiam castle. The thee chimneys at nearby biddendem used to be a great pub. There are some brilliant white wines now produced in that neck of the woods. The reds are very thin and best avoided.
