Remote working - now one day a month in office.... 300+ miles away.

Re accessible rooms in hotels - these may not actually help. The bed is usually set very low, in fact it's so low I find it makes my back problem worse. The room tends to be quite spacious to accommodate a wheelchair (awesome) but the bathrooms are a bit hiit and miss (the showers in particular).

Having an accessible room is not some sort of magic bullet.

Also, first class seats aren't too bad, at least for my back issue.

Flying might make things worse due to the amount of lifting and carrying involved. For a train journey of 4-5 hours, factoring in the travel at both ends and the plane departure/arrival times, plus security etc, there's not a lot in it.

I know flying is awful, but then so are trains and thats longer. Cars are not a great deal better even with me taking a lumbar support. Best is remarkably, my motorbike,
Expect all hotel rooms or well anywhere to be dreadful, I could sleep anywhere before now its leg pillow/U pillow and a certain degree of lift plus particular pillows, mattress and memory foam density or I am awful, doable anywhere but work the next day since I would rather not be necking things at work.

Seems to be off the table anyway, 3 didn't go, 3 did go and one is about to leave, 1 took the day off to avoid going in.... all ended up on separate laptops and then had a sound issue with the echo when not muted at the office.

Seems I am off the hook except quarterly/bi annually stuff. Then I will know well in advance and be paid since its basically work time. Away day to N Ireland soon but I am missing it cos still on probation, hence not wanting to make a fuss. People seem to be leaving client in droves, not surprised given the offers I keep being sent and me being on 10k more than line manager at client, just need May contract to renew and I should be good indefinitely. I don't care about progression and this is easy level with more than we require. Getting a few raises and the bonus would be nice tho as I could potentially go down to 4 days, already bought 5 extra holidays so on 31 + 8BH + my birthday so it could be worse.

"Mouse jiggling"

It always annoys me the emphasis of effort over result.

I worked with a woman who arrived early, left late, worked constantly with her head down.
Management sung her praises. The fact of the matter is that she worked so hard because she found simple tasks very difficult.

She’d get the job done but it took her 3 times longer to do a task than me.

I’d use planning and would work smarter not harder, finish early and twiddle my thumbs till more work came in.
I was considered lazy and her a model worker.

Just plain stupid.

If I was Wells Fargo my metric would be money made not mouse movement.

Wells Fargo is a very troubled US bank. Problem is that they hold billions in assets

you fail to see the management goal of matching your skills with that person commitment hereby increasing productivity/growth and that's why you are still an employee and not elon musk
bet you still use cash money

I’ve read his biography. After reading it:

1. I wouldn’t want to be Elon Musk
2. Never in a million years would I want to work for him.
3. He’s a cunt and hypocrite.

I’ll give him props for Space X but nothing else. He was lucky he didn’t fuck that up to be honest.
