Recommend me a very funny film on any major streaming service

Love his films. Haven’t seen any for ages. Which is the one where they dance to Sonic Youth?

Don't think it's that one. Funny you like his films but hate Metropolitan. I always associate Metropolitan with Trust. Probably just me . . . that and I saw them both around the same period.

The Magic Christian

Peter Sellers is an eccentric millionaire who perpetrates pranks. Ringo Starr is the young tramp who becomes his adopted son. Hijinks ensue.

Might still be on youtube.

Evertyjng that guy has made has been brilliant. I don’t like superhero films usually but Thor ragnarok was very very funny. Must have been a big gamble by the studio to give him the job.
The MCU films now mostly hire directors who before made small but critically acclaimed indie and art house films and they are still getting more esoteric in their choices. I like Waititi a lot, What We Do in the Shadows is probably my favourite comedy of the last couple of decades and his Thor movie was a blast but I hated Jojo Rabbit.

The problem with funny films is that the funny to time ratio isn’t that good, but I’m with you in the need to watch funny things at the moment.

I find funny tv shows are better and give you more laughs per minute and even the ones you’ve seen before are generally still funny so an excellent time waster and able to make you smile.

I’ve also been doing a lot of stand up comedy shows of which there are plenty on amazon prime and Netflix.

I've just seen that he also made The Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Hadn't realised that. That's a great film, too.

He was also quite involved in Flight of the Conchords I think. Which I just realised I might have a look at again to see how well its aged.

Coffee & Kareem.

I watched it last night and laughed out loud a lot. It's very silly. Taraji P Henson's in it, and I liked her in the television series Person of Interest a few years ago, although her role's a supporting one in this.

The premise is that her son doesn't like her white cop boyfriend, but man and boy end up tangling with some bad guys and corrupt cops. There's lots of foul-mouthed wisecracking, some good one liners. The kid's a star.

MUBI has Animal Crackers and Love and Friendship showing at the moment.

If you have a BFI subscription there is Steamboat Bill, Jr., The General and Louise-Michel

Yeah, that was actually a decent, funny, entertaining and good looking film using characters from previous films that have bored my tits off.
