Recommend me a good nail varnish top coat

Bored I am, bored, with varnish chipping after only a couple of days. I use the Sally Hansen top coat but it's failing me now, could simply be old and manky, but if I'm to acquire a good top coat I want feedback on some others. Can anyone recommend one ?

i like the l'oreal one. not sure if it's actually a top coat or just clear but it's the one i use.

It is, as it goes. I think it's just got old, so thank you quimcunx and Sapphireblue, I'll invest in another bottle

This, Miss-Shelf, is the veritable poodle's plums. I read somewhere that putting it on (globbing it roughly over all the nail with no skill whatsoever) 3-5 minutes after colour is the way to go and boy is it ! It kinda melts it all down, doing away with small ridges and smudges, lush.

Seems like the matter has been resolved, but wanted to throw in a recommendation for nails inc's kensington caviar. Quick drying and very glossy.

i just came to say thank you i had never heard of Seche Vite before, bought it becuase of here and my toes will never be the same again. Amazing stuff.
