really nice shampoo

campanula

diminished responsibilty
I am a bit vague when it comes to stuff like shampoo and hair and beauty things in general (I have used Fairy Green many times and have a beauty maintenance regime which consists solely of mirror avoiding and terrible eyesight but...my d-i-l bought me some lovely shampoo (Klorane) and conditioner which I have eked out since Xmas...and honestly enjoyed using. So, not only do I want to buy something for her, I am thinking I really should buy something nice for myself (especially in the light of recent comments made by people who should know better...but I shall be ordering new products on the offender's bank cards so...what do Urbs suggest...for fine, dead straight silky Asian hair...and my equally fine but nicely grey locks.
And while I am about it, might even splash out on a counter-balance to the hard east anglian water (and not just the usual tablespoon of salt and splash of lavender oil).

I get the one I use for about £13, often they are on offer. Lasts for ages. And I don't need to use a conditioner.

Aussie is cheap and smells lush. My hairdresser friend says it is also one of the best for your hair (although she still tries to sell people some mega expensive stuff in her salon).

I don't actually buy the shampoo but my salon uses Tigi oatmeal and honey and it's lovely. I use the conditioner.
I buy mine for about 11 quid (for a big bottle) off amazon but they sometimes have it in tkmaxx.

L'Occitane do good shampoos and conditioners for various hair types. They last a long time and you can get refills so they dont work out as expensive as they seem. The last conditioner I had did go down very quickly but that was because my Dad had been using it as shower gel.

Whatever happened to hot oils? I used to like those but I don't see them around any more.

I'm a convert to Shea Moisture stuff. I get it from the British Curlies website, because the stuff in Boots has a different formulation (the BC website stuff comes from America, whereas the Boots stuff is made over here I think). It's pricey, but it lasts me ages.

The coconut and hibiscus one is a really good basic one, but I tend to use the manuka extra hydration one most of the time.

I use Aveda Shampure. I get the big bottle from John Lewis....Don't shout £43.50  but they do smaller bottles for £14.50...It lasts around a year and is the only thing to control my mad hair, it's very long, thick and curly, everything in the past has left me looking like Crystal Tips, this doesn't. And it smells lovely, if that's any consolation
In all honesty I'd willingly pay double for the time and stress it saves in the long run....the tangles that used to have me crying are a thing of the past.

Fucking hell - just how big is the bottle for 43 quid - 1,000 gallons?

Just clipper your hair to a zero crop - you probably won't spend that much on shampoo in a lifetime.

1 Litre....the £14.50 one is 250mls.....so it's cheaper in the long run :p
I've always found Sinead attractive.

Organic/ no paraben/ no sodium laurel sulfate etc shampoos are amazing. Get them from any good health food store. The purer the better.

I like the bumble bumble shampoos and conditioners as a treat.

When my hair got trashed through bleach redken all soft was the only thing that worked, it's also excellent.

yep. i found that the sodium laurel sulfate started to really irritate my scalp and had to switch to ones without. the holland and barrett ones are good but annoying i have to make a special trip there to get it.

Berts Bees is lovely but I can't find it anywhere, used to make a special trip to (oo-er) Waitrose for it but they don't do the shampoo and conditioner anymore.
