If I remember rightly he couldn't actually sing and always used to lip-sync. He was only there for the jumping about but he was certainly good at it!

The male vocals on Boney M records were by Frank Farian, a scrawny white german bloke who formed the band. Bobby Farrell was there to look good. Apparently he did sing live, but with much help from backing singers.

Farian tried to repeat the trick with his later band Milli Vanilli - two cool dancers and session vocalists - only that blew up into a scandal.
