Yes the loss of ESA means I am minus £250 a month, so the fine at -£20 a month is small beer.

I have an appeal for ESA in the post to Aberdeen Benefit Centre,Wolverhampton (where else? ) and my recent criminal conviction should help make my case that I would "likely suffer occasionally uncontrollable episodes of aggressive or disinhibited behaviour that would be unreasonable in any workplace".

So there may be a silver lining in the court case after all?

Sentencing Dow, Sheriff Morag McLaughlin said: “I’m not going to impose jail. I think it would be disproportionate. Since this happened in 2014, there’s been nothing else.

“We will always disagree about the seriousness, but I consider it to be a serious breach of the peace.”

Dow said it was a “massive relief” that he will not be forced to spend time behind bars.

He was fined £500 to be paid at the rate of £20 per month.
