Paul Klee - Tate Modern

Sirena

Don't monkey with the buzzsaw
Has anyone been and can tell me something about it?

Is there much in it (like how many rooms and/or paintings)? Do you need to book beforehand or can you just roll up on the day?

Just show up and buy a ticket.

But if you have the energy skip up to Tate Britain and check out the upgrade.

find someone with a Tate card if you can. Then you can go for free like I did

It's good. If anything, there's too much - literally hundreds of paintings. I felt quite overwhelmed by it all.
Try to go first or last thing in the day to avoid the crowds. It was REALLY packed when I went (weekday lunchtime - actually, it was half term which may explain it!)

I go through periods of liking and disliking Paul Klee. He's out of favour atm. The whole taking a line for a walk thing feels a bit twee and a bit lightweight. But then I change my mind and find it charming.

I like him because he's got warmth and humour and it seems to me wrong that those qualities are seen to devalue his art.

He had a cat called 'Bimbo' and that's enough for me....

I went to the Paul Klee centre in Berne a couple of years ago. A friend had given me a beautiful 2CB pill especially for the occasion and I had one of the most extraordinary days of my life....:)

I'm a member so I can get in to this for free - I also see they have an app available to accompany the exhibition (I like it when they do that) - I must check it out soon.

It's that sort of abuse that has seen some organisations start insisting members produce ID along with their membership card at the entrance to exhibitions.
