Osama bin Laden killed by US forces in Pakistan

Thinking about the 25 million dollar price tag on Osama, I wonder how much the the next Andy McNab wannabe is likely to make when they (in the public interest and not to rake in piles of cash, honest) bring out yet another tell-all special forces bestseller along the lines of 'Osama: My Part In His Downfall'?

At least if they've been given 5 mil each or whatever for blowing him away, they'll be less likely to sell extracts from the book to the Sunday papers hah.

Ok sleep now, i've bin laden with tiredness since before i started getting hooked on our news for the next week....

There are a lot of storys on how he got it. which one is true or did they miss him again. Who will get the body or crazy enought to claim it.

I am glad that Osama is dead, but am concerned about possible retaliatory attacks.

Well, guess some will happen but not killing him wasn't an option for the US admin. Glad they got him & no civilians were hurt, apparently.

Speaking of profiteering, would it be entirely wrong of me to run a book on the precise time that the first jokes about this news begin to appear?

100's outside the White House chanting USA, USA. Fuck sakes, don't want to see what happens in retaliation :(

Before you all smile too much, remember that Al Qaeda is far more than one man and is a movement, not an organisation. Blood will flow in response.

According to this his body will be handled in accordance to Islamic tradition. Although that's a bit puzzling because my understanding is Muslim's must be buried as close to the death as possible (usually within 24 hours I think)...

I dont see why it would be a problem, take sufficient photos, finger prints and tissue samples and bury the rest in an unmarked grave, job done!

No, but then the death of Thatcher is unlikely to mean that some of my colleagues get blown up taking the tube.
