One hit wonders that you still love

RubyBlue

faded and jaded
Billie Ray Martin - Your loving arms - I saw her live and she was great - she blew the sound system :D Anita Ward - I'm sure there are more I could add.

That 'kiss the rain' song from...ooh...1998? I remember hearing it a zillion times on a school coach trip to Germany where we had only one compilation tape between us. And that 'here's where the story ends' one, that was on there too. If anyone knows who sung either of them please tell me so I can wallow in Rhineland nostalgia :)

What thread?

Yes. More than one hit. I was just thinking back and he popped into my head.

kitty_kitty:

You know who he reminds me of? that person WHOSE NAME YOU MUST NOT SAY ON THESE BOARDS, who you had a crush on. He was a bloody good dancer. I remember dancing to Terence with him. Swoon.

:)

yeah, there were 4 in all (iirc)- the first one ('introducing the hardline according to...'), 'neither fish nor flesh', where he tripped out on a load of mushies and wrote some delightfully wonky soul-based pop- a criminally underated album; the third one, whatever that was called (just checked- it was 'symphony or damn'), and Terence Trent D'Arby's Vibrator, which also has some classic stuff on it like 'read my lips (I dig your scene)' which is in 6/4 :D

one hit wonders I still love? kelly marie- feels like I'm in love

In the jungle - tight fit.
You mean The Lion Sleeps Tonight, a cover. They had a follow up Fantasy Island, which went to number 5 (I just know rubbish like this, I dare not google) so technically not a one hit wonder.

Safety Dance - Men Without Hats
Mickey - Tony Bazil
Japanese Boy - Anika
Kissing with Confidence - Will Powers
The Honey Thief - Hipsway.

I would say The rock steady crew for 'hey you the rock steady crew' (because it is the greatest song ever made) but I know that Uprock and Shes Fresh were also technically 'hits'.

I am sure there

I fail at music games.
