The Afghan Whigs - "Gentlemen" (I think for the first time today I saw why a lot rate this as Dulli's finest hour)

i certainly do. there's a unity - of theme and sound - that makes it hang together really well, it's really intense, it has a really dark funk to it, it's just a work of genius from start to finish..

About six years after first hearing "1965", I finally got round to buying "Gentlemen", but it did take a while to draw level with "1965", "Congregation" and "Black Love" in my eyes. I think the beauty of Dulli is his consistency, and that I don't seem to be able to isolate one album from the other, but them still all having a definite individuality at the same time.
