the Surgeon really is the daddy, isn't he?

i can't be arsed to listen to anybody else play techno anymore :D
I'm almost with you there (only almost mind ;))
Come and hear him play in September, Dub!

GZA - "Liquid Swords"
The Donnas - "Gold Medal"
Little Richard - "Little Richard"
Laraaji - "Ambient 3 Day Of Radiance" (produced by Brian Eno)
Cypress Hill - "Stoned Raiders"
Amon Tobin - "Chaos Theory"

Went on a little shopping spree in Nottingham yesterday and got all of the above for £22 in total. A pretty good bag to be honest. The Donnas album isn't as good as the other one of their's I've got, and the CH one is the weakest I've heard of there's, but the GZA was only £1, Laraaji was a bit different and Tobin is even better than I'd thought it'd be.

Throwing Muses 'The fat skier'

Shelagh Macdonald 'Never let a man..' comp

The Temptations 'Puzzle people'

Revisiting old stuff.

Jolie Holland - Catalpa

This album is beautiful, she is impressively talented and you can't help but warm to her unpolished style and sweet southern drawl. I listened to this all yesterday and this morning too, it makes me smile :)

logistics - now more than ever CD2
time machine - slow your roll
edan the humble magnificent - beauty and the beat
roots manuva - awfully deep
arcade fire - funeral
feist - let it die
hole - my body the handgrenade

I've just downloaded all the songs available from Atomic Suplex's website and am just about to put them on now while I go and cook lunch.

If it Bleeds we Can Kill It. :D

It's a beautiful, haunting album, isn't it.

There's really not a bad track on it. My favourites are Alley Flowers ("...some people say I got a psychedelic presence..."), All The Morning Birds, and her interpretations of
Wandering Angus and The Littlest Birds. :)

The follow up Escondida has a slightly more polished production, but has some equally gorgeous songs on it.

I have Escondida as well, gave it a listen yesterday and defo liked it but I'm concentrating on Catalpa atm.

My fav track is "I Wanna Die" - I was singing it in the shower yesterday and I never sing in the shower :D She has this effect on me - she makes me feel warm and smiley, it's brilliant.

That was over far too quickly. I'm going to have to play it again. :)

Blanche-If we can't trust the doctors

This has become one of my favourite albums and very hard not to overplay. Sad yet funny catchy as hell alt country that reminds me of The White Stripes crossed with Dolly Parton and Jonny Cash
