np: Edith Piaf - Hymne A L'Amour (cd 1)

aren't charity shops wonderful? :)

Morphine - Good

Great tunes! I love the over-the-top angelic choir on Hymne A L'Amour. Almost cringeworthy but ends up deeply moving.

That lurching bass on Morphine tracks always gets me. Saw them live once: imagine two fans nodding their heads violently but appreciatively, one throws his head back just as the one behind threw his forward - CRACK - OUCH - bonding moment!

Lately it's been:

Paul Robeson - Joe Hill

Tom Lehrer - Poisoning Pigeons in the Park

Tom Lehrer - When You Are Old and Grey

Tunng - And Then We Saw Land

Well, it is a departure, but not THAT much of a one tbh

Not as overwhelmingly stunning like Good Arrows or Comments was, though

Julie London - Her Name Is Julie (cd1)

need to change to something loud/shouty right now to drown out somebodies car alarm that's fucking annoying me.

That Day - s/t (I think) local/Cornish rock from some hippy bloke called John (who looks a bit like Editor:)), not bad actually but the last song (ranting against a total 'fucking cheating bitch') is accidentally hilarious :D.
