No Oor Wullie bizarre bucket trail thread?

What does any of this mean? What’s that Willie thing? Creepy af.
I tried to share with you the song “Dandy and The Beano” by Sheena Wellington to get you right in the zone but apparently it’s not on the go to place for tunes- youtube

They did them just in Dundee in 2016 but have changed the design, made them a bit smaller and spread them all over this year.

There are loads in Dundee City Centre as well - one at almost every turn last week.

Yes - this is the first national Bucket Trail. Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire has also run two local trails before this - First year was Dolphins, next was Anchors, to raise money for the Anchor Foundation - a significant local cancer charity. With the DC Thomson tie-up, it meant that they inevitably took it national.

I may have no liking at all for DC Thomson but Anchor/Archie are a different matter and they have genuinely done a lot of good/raised a lot of money over the years. I've been doing the odd job for them since I moved-over at work and although strictly its all chargeable stuff I take a little pride in having never submitted a bill - and nobody's chased me-up for it.

This is our Wullie - Scottish Myths and Legends. Our artist Charlie has been working on it for months. First the initial design/selection period, then she spent ages in a disused building, painting it before it got packed-off for lacquering and eventually placed at its destination - The Torry Battery in Aberdeen:

Needless to say, we have been making the utmost of the considerable potential for "Charlies Wullie" jokes at work...! :D

I had a few of these annuals from the charity shop when I was a kid, loved them was probably my first positive taste of Scottish culture.

Oor Wullie is often depicted sitting on an upturned bucket in the comic strips - Hence ~ Bucket Trail.

Quite a few of the Wullies also have a second bucket beside Wullie for people to sit-on and pose with him.
